We at Deal Machine have always had the mission of making sales fun for the salespeople. By fun we mean the sense of mastery and flow one gets when the whole sales process works fluidly.

One of our key theses have been that CRM should be actionable. This means that not only should CRM systems store customer relationship data, but that data should be organized in a way that helps the sales force to perform their best every day. Everything in the system should help the user to find the next actionable item, be it meeting or prospective contact.

Also, few CRMs for SMEs actually focus on usability. They are feature-packed which sounds nice on paper, but in the everyday life of a salesperson it only bogs things down and makes it harder to find your way through the system. The effect of a bad CRM is worse than one might intially think: when your spirits get low by just trying to manage, it indirectly also affects sales. CRM systems should definitely not get in the way of their users.
